* **Season 1 start date.** July 29
* **Initial cap.** $100M
* **Rewards.** \~10 Coordinates/day + Multiplier (2x for depositors in the first $50M, 1.75x for the second $50M)

  {% endhint %}

## Overview

The **Origin Vault** is the **pre-deposit phase** of the Axis ecosystem vault, curated by the Axis core team and hosted via [Upshift](https://upshift.finance). Its **mandate** is to **grow the supply of USDx and seed its distribution across DeFi** by seeding the markets USDx trades in.

Season 1 of the pre-deposit opened **July 29** and runs until **August 5**. Deposit **USDT or USDC** to earn yield and **Coordinates** from day one. **Fees are waived** for the entire time the pre-deposit runs. When the pre-deposit phase ends, the Origin Vault converts into the ongoing **Ecosystem Vault**.

## How yield works

Yield accrues through **share-price appreciation**, denominated in USDx. The vault earns, and the price of your position token rises over time, **your token balance stays the same**. There are **no manual claims and no rebasing**: the value simply accrues into the position.

| **Ecosystem Vault** (after conversion) | Soft lock | 7-day withdrawal period |

## Rewards & referral

Depositors earn **Coordinates**, the Axis rewards points. **Season 1 of Coordinates began July 29.** Depositors in the first **$50M** are set at a **2x** multiplier for all their deposits in the Origin Vault. Depositors in the second **$50M** are set at a **1.75x** multiplier.

The Coordinates and referral program is live at [app.axis.to/coordinates](https://app.axis.to/coordinates), where you can see your Coordinates, create an invite link and set what you share with the people you invite.

## FAQ

**Where do the returns come from?**

The Axis engine runs a delta-neutral arbitrage strategy, closing price variations across trading venues. Returns come from real market activity, not from token emissions or incentives. That is why the base return is a verifiable 10-20%, and why it holds across market conditions rather than depending on a bull market.

**Is the 10-20% APY real, or a promo rate?**

Real. Performance is independently verified by [Accountable](https://axis.accountable.capital) and the Axis Transparency Dashboard, and the strategy has a multi-year track record behind it. It is a net range.

**What happens when funding rates go negative?**

Our strategy does not rely on funding rates, we profit from spot price dislocations. Also, delta-neutral does not mean single-strategy. The Axis engine runs multiple uncorrelated sources of return at once. When one compresses, capital rotates to the others. The strategy is built to hold up when any single source turns unfavorable.

**Where can I verify performance?**

You can head to the Axis Transparency Dashboard to verify the engine's performance.

**Is the Origin Vault the only way to access the strategy?**

No. The strategy itself is not gated, and sUSDx gives permissionless access to the same engine at any time. What the Origin Vault opens is the chance to be early and receive a 2x multiplier on the first $50M. For a limited window, your deposit helps bootstrap the balance sheet and seed the early liquidity that compounds into network effects, and Axis Origin rewards the capital that shows up first.

**Is there a minimum deposit size?**

No, there is no minimum deposit size.

**What is USDx?**

USDx is a synthetic dollar backed by the collateral and delta-neutral Axis positions. When you deposit, your capital sits in the Axis engine. USDx mints at vault close. Staking USDx into sUSDx earns Axis performance, and continues your loyalty clock.

See [What is USDx?](/usdx-the-synthetic-dollar/usdx.md) to learn more.

**How do I deposit?**

Deposit USDT or USDC into the Origin Vault on Ethereum L1, starting July 29. The vault is enabled by [Upshift](https://upshift.finance).

**Is there a lock?**

Yes. Deposits carry a mandatory one-month lock after the window closes.

**What is the Multiplier?**

Depositing from July 29 puts you on a Multiplier applied to your accrual. Depositors in the first $50M are set at a 2x multiplier for all their deposits in the Origin Vault. Depositors in the second $50M are set at a 1.75x multiplier.

**What are Coordinates?**

Coordinates are your position on the Grid, the map of every depositor's standing in Axis Origin. You accrue them on your deposited balance over time, scaled by your Multiplier.

**Is my deposit safe?**

The onchain contracts behind the vault have been independently audited by [OpenZeppelin](https://www.openzeppelin.com/news/axis-coordinate-v2-contracts-audit), with zero critical issues. The Axis team has been operating this same strategy, together, for 8 years already.

**Is there a cap?**

Yes, $100M. The deposit window runs July 29 to August 5, and closes earlier if the cap fills.

**What is the deadline?**

The window closes August 5, or when the cap fills, whichever comes first. Given expected demand, plan for sooner rather than later.

**Who is behind Axis?**

Axis is led by [industry veterans](https://axis.to/about) with decades of experience in capital markets, digital assets, and financial infrastructure. Our team has delivered consistent, risk-adjusted returns since 2018 while maintaining exceptional liquidity and scale as the leading delta-neutral arbitrageur in crypto markets.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.axis.to/origin-vault/origin-vault.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
